My interests are in math and science. When I grow up, my passion is to become an Environmental Scientist (Earth scientist) to be able to give back to the society. My hobbies are soccer, tennis, and playing the piano. I love reading non-fiction, reading and writing poetry, watching TED-Ed videos and building 3D models and puzzles. I also like listening to western classical artists such as Beethoven, Mozart and others. My past time is working with electronics - I have fixed a few household electrical problems. I had developed a remote control car grounds up, for which, I won the junior gold medal at the Indian Science and Engineering Fair (INSEF). I have also secured distinction in my Grade 3 piano exam conducted by the Trinity school of music. I have worked on a project about photosynthesizing algae (Filamentous algae-Pithophora) to perform efficient carbon sequestration. This project won a silver medal at INSEF and was also selected for the Innovation festival conducted at Visvesvaraya museum, Bangalore. (Update: Shankar is currently pursuing BS in Material Science at University of California - Berkeley.)
