I want to become a machine learning developer. Starting my own enterprise, I want to solve global problems through machine learning. I want to find ways to make education in the computer sciences available to large number of rural people. My significant achievements so far include: making an app called “sleep tight” when I was 14 and releasing it on Google Play Store. It has been downloaded almost 100,000 times. I have also gotten many offers from other Android developers to buy my app. I am a state level Table Tennis player. I captained my team to third place in the state level tournament held in Ramnagar. I, as a part of a team of three, did a project under NIAS where we made “Artbot”, a robot that can write on a whiteboard using a marker. Everything I know about coding, I have learned it myself online or through books. I had to do a lot of experimenting to find the best resources to learn from. Hence, I ended up wasting a lot of time. NIAS-MAIYA Prodigy programme will help me to work on projects with people that share similar interests and the mentors will help me broaden my skill set for the future. Through the programme, I will get better project opportunities and I can learn more efficiently. (Update: Deepit is currently pursuing B.Tech in Computational Mechanics at IIT Delhi. He is also a co-founder of a Y-Combinator start up.)
